Comments A resolution toward the elimination of oil and gas from California's energy supply is timely, indeed long overdue, in this year when the effects of pollution are keenly felt in the form of droughts, fires, heat waves, smog, and crop failures. We, the undersigned, support this purpose and hope it is carried out quickly but carefully, and hope to see, following upon its passage, solar panels on every roof (and none in planted fields or orchards, unless co-existent with farming operations), electric cars in every garage (or the means to purchase them in every wallet), green space on every street corner (in the form of native flowers and shade trees), and shelter for all (especially the unhoused).
Objections may be made, that the cost of making this transition is high. We say, the cost of living, if this transition is not made, is still higher; and we say, further, it is the responsibility of us (including those who object on such grounds) who can afford to 1 make the change, to make it at once, and spare those who cannot.
