TAKE NOTICE, that the City of Camarillo City Council will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 601 Carmen Drive, Camarillo, California, on the following agenda item:
Proposed Zoning Ordinance Amending and Adding Certain Sections to Chapter 19.56 of Title 19 of the Camarillo Municipal Code
The City Council will consider an Ordinance amending and adding to Title 19 of the Camarillo Municipal Code (“CMC”) regarding junior accessory dwelling unit regulations, which will be applicable City-wide.
The City reviewed the environmental impacts of the proposed Ordinance under the California Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code §§ 21000, et seq. “CEQA”) and the regulations promulgated thereunder (14 Cal. Code of Regs. §§ 15000, et seq., the “CEQA Guidelines”). CEQA Guidelines §§ 15060(c)(2), 15061(b)(3), and 15378 exempt activities that will not result in a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, activities where there is possibility that it may have a significant effect on the environment, and activities that do not constitute a “project” as defined, respectively. The proposed Ordinance implements the provisions of State law and is for general policies and procedure making. Accordingly, it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the proposed Ordinance may have a significant effect on the environment and this activity is exempt from further review.
Any person interested in this matter is invited to attend and present testimony either for or against the above item. If you challenge the proposed action in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at or prior to the public hearing.
