Comments Dear Honorable Mayor and Members of the Camarillo City Council,
Please accept this comment as an expression of my deepest gratitude for the City’s unwavering support, and for your presence at our recent celebration of the grand opening of kidSTREAM Children’s Museum. While I am unable to attend tonight’s meeting, I wanted to share a few thoughts with the Council about the incredible impact your partnership has already made on our community.

Since opening our doors on Thursday, May 21, the public response has been nothing short of inspiring. It is clear that Ventura County families were eager for a dedicated space where children can explore, play, and discover.

We have seen firsthand how much this region values
1 accessible, hands-on learning, evidenced even prior to our opening through our outreach programs that reached over 70,000 children. Over the past few days, the enthusiasm from our visitors since opening confirms that kidSTREAM is filling a vital need in our community, and the best part is that we are just getting started.

Our mission remains rooted in the belief that potential is universal, but opportunity is not. By providing an engaging environment where kids are empowered to become critical thinkers and innovators, we are working to change the life trajectories of children for generations to come. Through a team of locally hired full-time and part-time staff, a vision we rallied around is now reaching children and their caregivers in an engaging and playful way, igniting curiosity and wonder across science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math.

This achievement was only possible because our community chose to work together, proving that when we align our efforts, we can do big things.

We are incredibly excited to continue building on the foundation we’ve laid together, moving forward with our long-term vision to continually evolve and adapt our educator-led programming, roll out new exhibits, and expand our indoor experience to complete our 30,000 sq. ft. campus.

Thank you for being a critical part of our "we" and for believing in the future of our children.

Sincerely,
Bryan Yee
Board Chair, kidSTREAM Children’s Museum
