1 Comments Your City Manager's letter of October 15, 2025 notes the Council's approval of a $70.000.00 funding to Monica White, President and CEO of Food Share of Ventura County. This matches what I witnessed voted upon by the Council. However the Actions memorandum of the September 24, 2025 Council meeting notes this award but also details a further $50,000.00 funding for Food Share and the Saticoy Food Hub requests, and an additional $28,000.00 to Food Share and/or $35,000.00 funding to Saticoy Food Hub. Saticoy is not in Camarillo, and was not covered in the approval of $70,000.00 funding for strictly Camarillo and the CSUCI campus and Somis Ranch.
Although your documents show the $70.000.00 disbursement to Food Share, they do not show the disbursement of the apparent additional $113,000.00 to areas not covered by the original motion or agenda item that I witnessed. Please explain, and also explain if you have requested an audit of how these NGOs spent those funds, and if not, why not.

SUBJECT: City of Camarillo $70,000 Contribution to Food Share
Dear Monica White:
On behalf of the Camarillo City Council, I am pleased to inform you that at the regular meeting on September 24, 2025, the City Council unanimously approved a one-time contribution of $70,000 to support local food assistance efforts through Food Share of Ventura County.
The approved funding will help Food Share assemble and distribute emergency food boxes to vulnerable households, including seniors, families with children, and individuals with limited mobility. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support local organizations that provide direct relief to Camarillo residents.
Specifically, the City Council requests this funding directly benefit residents in the City of Camarillo, students at California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI), and residents of the Somis Ranch labor housing community. We are grateful for Food Share’s continued commitment to serving our community and look forward to the positive impact this funding will have on those most in need.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact me at (805)388-5307or via email at [email protected].

Greg Ramirez
