BACKGROUND
Staff provides the Library Board of Trustees monthly updates on activities at the Camarillo Public Library.
DISCUSSION
A Library & RFBC Activity Report for July is included as Attachment 1, featuring Library Highlights, Professional Development, Literacy/ESL and updates on the Russell Fischer Business Collection (RFBC).
The Camarillo Public Library has selected The Night We Lost Him by Laura Dave for Camarillo Reads 2026. Laura Dave is the New York Times bestselling author of The Last Thing He Told Me, Eight Hundred Grapes, and other novels. Her books have been published in thirty-nine languages and have been chosen by Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club. The Night We Lost Him is an intriguing mystery and has been listed as one of Barnes & Noble Best Books of the Year. Laura resides in Santa Monica, California.
The Library will host Laura Dave for an author talk on Sunday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room. Free tickets will be available at the 2nd Floor Reference Desk beginning September 1. Each individual will receive one ticket. The Library will host additional Camarillo Reads programming throughout September that relate to The Night We Lost Him. Copies of The Night We Lost Him are available in regular print as well as eBook and eAudiobook digital formats.
