Subject: Dizdar Park Renovation and Expansion (Project No. CP-5095) Adopt a Resolution Approving Final Pay Estimate and Accepting Improvements
BACKGROUND
On March 22, 2023, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2023-27, certifying the Final Environmental Impact Report and authorizing the Director of Public Works to file the Notice of Determination with the County Clerk of the County of Ventura.
On October 25, 2023, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2023-85, approving the plans, specifications, notice inviting bids, and authorizing staff to invite bids for the Project.
On February 14, 2024, the City Council awarded a Public Works Contract to Ardalan Construction Company, Inc. (Ardalan) for the Project in the amount of $6,431,685.80 and authorized a contingency in the amount of $965,000 for a total authorization of $7,396,685.80.
DISCUSSION
The Project improvements included a new plaza, garden entry gateway, band shell with stage, shade trees, seating, public restrooms, enhanced pavement, and a fire station themed playground located at the southeast corner of Ventura Boulevard and Glenn Drive (Attachment 1). A designated space was provided for a public art element which was commissioned and installed under a separate process and contract. The Project also included demolition of the vacant office building and the former fire station/community center.
The Project is complete and approval of Contract Pay Estimate No. 22 (Final) (Attachment 2) to Ardalan in the amount of $55,462.25 is recommended for this project. The total final cost of this contract is $6,717,967.53.

Staff recommends adopting a Resolution approving the Final Pay Estimate and accepting improvements. The Resolution (Attachment 3) authorizes the Mayor to sign the Notice of Completion (Attachment 4) and directs the City Clerk to record the Notice with the Ventura County Recorder.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for Dizdar Park Renovation and Expansion contract are included in the Capital Improvement Projects Fund, 410-8510-485.92-41 and Project CP-5095.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a Resolution accepting improvements, approving Contract Pay Estimate No. 22 (Final) to Ardalan Construction Company, Inc. and authorizing the Mayor to sign the Notice of Completion.
