Councilmembers discussed the potential of a code of conduct policy or revising the Statement of Values.
The Council was supporti ve of improvements in the onboarding process for commissioners, ethics certification and additional trainings. They also thought having commissioners reaffirm the Statement of Values every two years would be helpful. They liked the Paso Robles Code of Conduct policy example.
City Manager Loventhal stated they would incorporate Council’s feedback in a proposal, receive commissioner input and come back to the Council in February 2023 when the Statement of Values is reaffirmed.
