CM irACM V--DCM (3) ~ - -
It has been an honor and dream of mine to serve on the Historic Preservation Committee for the City of Carlsbad. During my tenure we have made some great strides. During the pandemic our momentum slowed. I feel we still have work to be done, that is why I would like to continue to lead the Historic Preservation Committee .
I was elected chairman by my fellow commissioners at my second meeting and was recently re-elected chairman.
Some of the accomplishments under my term include:
- Bring awareness of the Culver Myer Capp House
-Exploring options with regard to the Smokestack
-Victor Condos
-Starting the process of the Mills Act to Carlsbad
-New Commission Ordinance
-Oral Histories
-Encouraging the other commissioners to familiarize and tour th~ historic properties in Carlsbad I have expanded my involvement with the City of Carlsbad by recently being appointed to the Growth Management Committee.
It is a privilege to represent Carlsbad on the Historical Preservation Board and I hope to be reappointed.
Thank you,
Chad Majer
