RESOLUTION NO. 2022-181
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE STREET LIGHTING REPLACEMENT PROGRAM PHASE II PROJECT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it necessary, desirable and in the public interest to upgrade the citywide street lighting system by replacing certain existing street lighting fixtures; and
WHEREAS, Phase II of the Street Lighting Replacement Program, Capital Improvement Program, or CIP, Project No. 6062, includes continued replacement of streetlights on connector streets, completing all lights in the Village and Barrio areas and all cul-de-sac lights citywide with light-emitting diode, or LED, light fixtures; and
WHEREAS, the plans, specifications and contract documents for CIP Project No. 6062 have been prepared, are on file with the City Clerk and are incorporated herein by reference; and WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds available to complete Phase II of this program; and WHEREAS, the City Planner has determined that this project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act, or CEQA, per State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(d)-restoration or rehabilitation of existing deteriorated or damaged structures to meet current standards of public health and safety that involve negligible or no expansion, and that no exception to the exemption as set forth in CEQA Guidelines section 15300.2 applies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
l.That the above recitations are true and correct.
2.That the plans, specifications and contract documents for the Street Lighting Replacement Program Phase II, CIP Project No. 6062, on file with the City Clerk are hereby approved.
3.That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish, in accordance with state law, and Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 3.28.080((), a notice to contractors inviting bids for construction of the project, in accordance with the plans, specifications and contract documents referred to herein.
