A R
ESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE AMENDED AND RESTATED CITY MANAGER
EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH GEOFF PATNOE AND A CORRESPONDING
AMENDMENT TO THE APPOINTED OFFICIALS SALARY RANGE SCHEDULE WH
EREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California desires to approve the A mended and Restated City Manager Employment Agreement with Geoff Patnoe (Attachment A); and WHEREAS, the Amended and Restated City Manager Employment Agreement adjusts the City Manager’s annual base pay by 4% to $304,860.40 effective July 1, 2025.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the Appointed Officials Salary Range Schedule to indicate the City Manager’s revised maximum annual salary of $304,860.40.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. Th at the proposed action is not a “project” as defined by C alifornia Environmental Quality Act Section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(2) & (5) and does not require environmental review under CEQA Guidelines Section 15060(c)(3) as it is a government organizational or administrative activity that will not result in direct or indirect physical changes in the environment.
3. That the A mended and R estated City Manager Employment Agreement with Geoff Patnoe in Attachment A is approved effective July 1, 2025.
4. Th at the A mended Appointed Officials Salary Range Schedule in Attachment B is approved effective July 1, 2025.
5. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is authorized to execute the A mended and Restated City Manager Employment Agreement with Geoff Patnoe on behalf of the City of Carlsbad.
