BACKGROUND:
Scott Colwell was appointed to serve on the Public Arts Commission on June 30, 2020 for a full-term expiring June 30, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
On December 28, 2021, staff received an email from Mr. Colwell submitting his resignation from the Public Arts Commission effective immediately.
With the resignation of Mr. Colwell, the Public Arts Commission will have one vacancy with a term continuing to June 30, 2023.
Staff recommends the City Council direct staff to do the following:
•Pursuant to Government Code 54974, post a Notice of Vacancy. No appointment can be made sooner than 10 days after the Notice of Vacancy has been posted.
•Post vacancy on social media and City website and publish in the Desert Sun. •Accept applications through February 4, 2022, conduct interviews on February 23, 2022, and make an appointment to fill the vacated seat.

There is no fiscal impact with this item.
