Title: Accept Resignation of Scott Colwell from the Public Arts Commission

RECOMMENDATION:
To accept the resignation of Scott Colwell from the Public Arts Commission effective immediately and direct staff to proceed with filling the vacant seat.
BACKGROUND:
Scott Colwell was appointed to serve on the P ublic Arts Commission on June 30, 2020 for a full-term expiring June 30, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
On December 28, 2021 , staff received an email from M r. Colwell submitting h is resignation from the Public Arts Commission effective immediately.
With the resignation of M r. Colwell, the Public Arts Commission will have one vacancy with a term continuing to June 30, 2023.
Staff recommends the City Council direct staff to do the following:
• Pursuant to Government Code 54974, post a Notice of Vacancy. No appointment can be made sooner than 10 days after the Notice of Vacancy has been posted.
• Post vacancy on social media and City website and publish in the Desert Sun. • Accept applications through February 4, 2022 , conduct interviews on February 23, 2022, and make an appointment to fill the vacated seat.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact with this item.
