February 14 2022
Hello. My name is Steven Acree. I am an Emeritus Professor of English at College of the Desert and a two-year resident of Cathedral City. In my capacity at the College, I have taught writing, composition, and literature, and I'm interested in serving on the Arts Commission because I believe public art not only serves the community but also provides opportunities for developing artists to showcase their work.

My direct experience with managing public art is limited, but I have served on many committees in my time at the College, including the diversity committee, the LGBTQ equity committee, and as faculty advisor for the College of the Desert chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. I think these experiences have taught me how to be a valuable team member.

I appreciate your attention to my application, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Subject: Cathedral City Arts Commission
Hello Tracey,
My name is Craig Liebelt, and I was referred to you by Piper Scott. I am very interested in being a part of the Arts Commission for Cathedral City.

The Arts have been a life long passion for me. My parents hosted art classes in the basement of our house when I was growing up, and my being able to first observe, and then participate, got me going, and I have been hooked on art ever since.

This led to a career in the Santa Art scene for many years, as a gallery director, and curator, also serving on many boards relating to both fine arts, and the performing arts.

With my many years as a gallery director, I have been invited to speak to many artists groups on how to best present, and market their work, and have enjoyed being able to help in any way I can.

With all of the exciting things happening in Cathedral City, it is such a great time for this community to put our best foot forward, and become the leader for the creative arts here in the Valley, and I would love to be a part of making that happen.

I look forward to being able to meet with you in person, and answer any additional questions you might have.

Thank you for your time, and consideration of me.

Sincerely,
Craig Liebelt

DOMENIC D. VERMEULEN (He/They)
Dear Tracey Martinez:

My name is Domenic Vermeulen, and I am applying to the open position on the Cathedral City Public Arts Commission. I am currently a Production HR Coordinator at Lionsgate Entertainment, working to implement Harassment Prevention and Diversity Training for productions across the company's Television and Motion Picture groups. I also work alongside Lionsgate/Starz's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on the DEI Content Review Committee, and hold a seat on the company's Production Inclusion Coalition.

Previously, I was a Physical Production Coordinator at A+E Studios, where I also served as Founder/Co- Chair of Pride@A+E Networks, Co-Chair of the Employee Resource Group (ERG) Diversity Advisory Council, and a Board Member of the Human Impact Team. I've also held other Board Member roles on ERG councils at previous companies.

Professionally, my experience in project management, council leadership, and employee relations allows me to effectively coordinate and communicate with people, as well as identify and solve foreseeable problems before they come to fruition. My ability to remain organized and flexible in a fast-paced environment has granted me success while working under multiple high-level executives.

Furthermore, my role as a Development Advisory Board Member for The Dru Project has afforded me the opportunity to produce large-scale events, bringing community members together and building safe, inclusive spaces for queer youth. Collectively, these events have not only raised money for The Dru Project, but also found ways to encourage community members to become involved in the cause and build partnerships with local event spaces/small businesses.

Outside of my professional career, 1 am an active member of the theatre community in Cathedral City, having helped build sets for The Rocky Horror Picture Show and was selected to direct Xanadu, both with Desert Rose Playhouse. My partner and I also regularly attend performances and concerts at venues across the Coachella Valley, and see as many art museums or exhibits as possible when I am visiting him on tour.

In closing, I believe these skills, coupled with my passion for building inclusive communities, arts and entertainment, and for Cathedral City itself would make me a valuable asset to the Public Arts ommission. I am positive that the Cathedral City Public Arts Commission is an organization where ould continue to learn and grow as a team member while also bringing fresh, new ideas to increa community involvement within the arts.

I am available to meet for an interview at your convenience and can be reached at Thank you for your time and consideration and I look
forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
Domenic Vermeulen
