Title: Appoint Voting Delegate for the Southern California Association of Government's (SCAG) Annual Regional
Conference General Assembly Meeting
RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint Mayor Ernesto Gutierrez as the voting delegate at the 2022 Southern California Association of Government's (SCAG) Annual Regional Conference General Assembly Meeting.
BACKGROUND:
The 2022 Annual Regional Conference and Genera l Assembly for Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) will be held May 5-7, 2022. SCAG is requiring that the City Council take formal action to appoint a voting delegate to attend the General Assembly Meeting, which will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022.
DISCUSSION:
The voting delegate attending the General Assembly Meeting will vote on Agenda items related to the General Assembly. Mayor Ernesto Gutierrez is the City’s representative for SCAG and has indicated that he will be attending t he Conference. It is staff’s recommendation to appoint Mayor Ernesto Gutierrez as the voting delegate representing Cathedral City at the Annual General Assembly meeting and direct staff to notify SCAG of this appointment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact with this action.
