RE: CVHF Program Overview - Fiscal Year 2021/2022
Dear Mr. Lee:
This letter is to provide you with further information regarding the services offered in Cathedral City through the regional CV Housing First (CVHF) program.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic we have continued to provide services and shelter through the CVHF program, which integrates outreach, progressive engagement, and crisis stabilization housing (CSH) with case management and wrap around services. There was no interruption in the provision of services to clients and thorough safety protocols were implemented to protect staff and clients from the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
Our CSH units have provided emergency shelter to Cathedral City residents, and seniors in particular. These particular households who originate from Cathedral City are placed in bridge housing for up to 90 days, while case managers work with each household to identify permanent housing solutions.
Further, Street Outreach is regularly conducted in partnership with Cathedral City Police Department as part of the CV200 initiative, filling a unique role in Coachella Valley’s homelessness response network by targeting the hardest-to-help people living on the streets in Cathedral City. With the recently deployed Mobile Access Center, our staff will expand our existing services to assist more unsheltered homeless living in Cathedral City with acquiring vital records, compiling necessary documentation for housing, and providing intensive case management.
