Artist Bio
My name is Ariana Gurrola, Latina, born in Los Angeles CA. May 15, 2005. I moved to Cathedral City when I was 6 yrs old, attended Landau Elementary and James Workman Middle School in Cathedral City.
I am now 16 yrs old and a junior at Mt. San Jacinto High School. My interest for painting and drawing started at a very young age, like most kids I would draw stick figures for my mom and dad for fun. I want to say my passion for painting has grown within the last 5 years, now I get lost in my thoughts when drawing a piece of art. I took 2 years of art class in middle school and now in my 3rd year of art class in high school. I am also my art teachers assistant for one of my elective classes. I have experience in acrylic paint, color pencil, pastel and water colors. I most enjoy working with acrylic paint. One of my art paintings was recently featured in the “Young Artist Exhibition” at the Art Museum in Palm Desert (Artists Center at the Galen) at 72-567 Hwy 111 . My painting will be in display from now through May 15, 2022. I received a certificate for my artwork from Artists Center at the Galen.
I love the outdoors and take inspiration from nature, music and other artist. I don’t have a favorite artist at the moment. I like looking at all the different types of artwork and seeing all of their different understandings of art, because I like to combine different techniques while making my own. Painting allows me to tell a story, connect with others and express my appreciation for the beauty in the world around us.
