The City Council conducted interviews for the Commission/Committee seats that will expire on June 30, 2022, including the Planning Commission, Public Arts Commission and Parks and Community Events Commission. The following individuals submitted applications and were interviewed:

Mayor Ernesto Gutierrez indicated that the City Council will consider appointments to the Commissions/Committees based on the interviews that were conducted. Council will also consider re-appointments to the Architectural Review Committee and Historic Preservation Committee and a formal appointment to the Coachella Valley Conservation Commission Trails Management Sub-committee.
Brad Anderson stated that the City Council will be discussing stipends for Commission/Committee members later in the meeting and he would recommend not to offer stipends. He feels if it is the desire of the City Council to offer stipends to Commission/Committee members they should offer it to all of the members. He expressed his concern with the selection process of the representative of the Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control. He wished the Council well on their appointments.

A motion was made by Councilmember Gregory and seconded by Councilmember Ross to appoint Danny Lee to serve on the Planning Commission for a three-year term beginning on July 1, 2022.
