Subject: Proposed Joe Novak Way- Bel Air Drive
Mr. James,
I'm writing to voice my strong support and agreement to renaming a portion of Bel Air Drive, in Cathedral Cove, to honor Joe Novak, and placing the sign topper to mark it. It will be a fine addition to the neighborhood.
It's my privilege to live in the house that Mr. Novak owned before me, and I couldn't be happier. Although I never met Joe before his passing, I've seen much of his beautiful artwork in books and online. And every day I get up, I'm lucky enough to enjoy the house he renovated so beautifully, and the beautiful gardens he created. I spoke to a friend of Joe's on NextDoor.com shortly after moving in, and told him how much I loved the house. A few months later, a few days after Joe passed, his friend told me he'd had lunch with Joe a few weeks prior, and told him how much I loved the house. Joe said his greatest wish was that the house go to someone who loved it as much as he did. I think he would be happy, because I absolutely do. I'm so lucky.
Joe was clearly a man of incredible talent and vision, and the Cove was lucky to have him as a resident. I'm sure Bill Anson and Tim Townsley were amazing talents also. Thank you for honoring them too.
Thank you and the Cathedral City Public Arts Commission for the work you do. You make Cathedral City a better and special place to live, and I appreciate it. I'm glad I live here.
Sincerely,
Jim Stennett
