a. Structural and percolation borings etc.

4. Project meetings:
a. Participate in four (4) meetings during this phase
(i.e., kick-off meeting, two (2) PDT meetings, one
(1) community meeting). We are assuming that the
PDT meetings will be done virtually.

5. Basis of Design Document:
a. We will prepare a “Basis of Design” document
establishing the project scope, programming, and
design criteria. The Basis of Design document will
identify the following for the picnic structures, site
furnishings and pre-manufactured structures. It will

SITE UTILITY RESEARCH
include size / capacity, quantity, materials, and ar-
chitectural style as well as deferred submittals and
direct purchase options for cost savings. Our fee
assumes deferred submittals once a purchase order
has been issued. This typically occurs once the con-
tractor has contracted with the manufacturer unless
the City enters into a direct purchase agreement
prior to commencement of construction.

6. Preliminary Estimate of Probable Cost:
a. The market has changed considerably since the
conceptual plan and associated estimate was pre-
pared. Significant increases in unit pricing warrants
early discussion regarding how these changes will
impact the proposed developments for the park.

We will update the Estimate of probable cost so
that our design moving forward will be informed
and strategic.

TASK 2: DESIGN REFINEMENT /

PRELIMINARY AND FINAL SITE PLAN

1. Utilizing the data collected from Task 1, we will pro- vide and update site plan that will ultimately serve as the basis for the construction drawings. This plan will also consider changes that will be necessary relative
to the significant increases in unit pricing compared to when the initial plan was developed. We understand
that the grant requires improvements noted in the
RFP but there is flexibility that should be considered
relative to things like the size of areas, finishes and furnishings. We will provide recommendations for cost
savings during this process. We will work with the city and review items that will be included in the updated
conceptual plan such as drought tolerant plant pal-
ette, site amenities/furnishings, fence and wall types, finishes, surfacing, colors, textures, and direct purchas- ing opportunities etc. We understand park design
and long-term maintenance challenges that exist for
all agencies. Our recommendations always consider
vandal resistance, durability, and an overall lifecycle analysis. The products, finishes and colors that are ap- proved will become part of the submittal book that is
noted in Task 3 below. The completed site plan will be
submitted for City review and comment.

2. Input provided by the City on site plan will be used to create a final site plan that will become the final site plan and the materials plan for our CD set.

3. Project meetings: We will participate in six (6) meet- ings during this phase (i.e.., three PDT mtgs, one
community mtg, one parks and community event com-
mission workshop, one City Council mtg.). We are
assuming that the PDT meetings will done virtually.

milestone and include it in our submittal book.

submittal that will identify the personnel that
provided each relative QA/QC review for each
discipline. This plan will be signed by Verde De-
