BACKGROUND:

The Century Park Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation (C08663), Sarah Street Pavement Rehabilitation (C08512), and Avenida Los Ninos Surface Widening (C08513) Projects are a combined construction bid package th at encompasses three (3) roadway Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) in three separate areas of the City (Project). During the planning phase of these Projects, Engineering Staff combined the individual Projects into one specification and plan package to ac hieve economies of scale for construction bidding. The bid package was then advertised for construction bids.

The Project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, necessary equipment and tools, utility work, traffic control and public services coo rdination required for the completion of the roadway improvement Project. The proposed street improvements and rehabilitation

includes constructing sidewalk, curb and gutter, curb ramps, placing new asphalt over a cold-milled road with a pulverized base, l owering and raising utilities to final grade, pavement striping, and marking.

The following is a summary of each of the three (3) CIP projects:

1. Century Park Neighborhood Rehabilitation, CIP No. C08663: On March 23, 2022, the City Council approved SB -1 Resolution No. 2022 -16 that included the Century Park Neighborhood Street Pavement Rehabilitation Project for FY 2022 - 2023. The Century Park Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation Project will reconstruct fourteen (14) residential streets including ADA ramps, curb and gutter located between McCallum and 30th Avenue. As cited above, this Project is a CIP Project funded by SB -1. There will be work in Assessment District 2001 -01, located within the Century Park Neighborhood. This portion of work will be funded by Assessment District 2001-01 funds.

2. Sarah Street Pavement Rehabilitation, CIP No. C08512: The Sarah Street Rehabilitation Project includes improving road conditions on Sarah Street by removing existing, failing asphalt and overlaying with new asphalt. Th e proposed improvements also include constructing new curb, gutter, and driveway approaches. This Project is a CIP Project funded by Maintenance of Effort (MOE) funds (General Fund).

3. Avenida Los N iños Surface Widening CIP No. C08513: The Avenida Los Niños Project will widen the roadway to allow two lanes of travel, one in each direction. Currently Avenida Los Niños has only one driving lane on the West side, therefore new asphalt will be installed on the east side to provide the second driving lane. Future development will be required to add curb, gutter, and sidewalk on the east side and tie into the asphalt. This Project is a CIP Project funded by MOE funds (General Fund).

The following table ranks each qualified bidder by total price from lowest to highest:
