Anthony Andreas III stated that he is a member of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. He urged the Council to support Proposition 26 and oppos Proposition 27.
A motion was made by Councilmember Carnevale and seconded by Mayor Gutierrez to approve a Resolution expressing the City Council's support for Proposition 26 and approve a Resolution expressing the City Council's opposition for Proposition 27 on the November 2022 Ballot.
A substitute motion was made by Councilmember Gregory and seconded by Councilmember Ross that the City take no formal position on Proposition 26 and Proposition 27, but to affirm the League of California Cities position on the matter.
