BACKGROUND:
FIND Food Bank (Food in Need Distribution) is dedicated to relieving hunger, the causes of hunger, and the problems associated with hunger through awareness, education, and mobilization of resources and community involvement. FIND’s vision is to create a community that is free of hunger and food insecurity
FIND’s food comes from donations, purchased goods, or federal government programs. The FIND team collaborates with volunteers to prepare food for distribution. Volunteers inspect, sort, repack and label food for distribution to our partner agencies and mobile markets. The Warehouse crew picks up and distributes food safely throughout eastern Riverside and south San Bernardino counties.
DISCUSSION:
September is Hunger Action Month, a time when the community comes together to raise awareness to fight hunger. Debbie Espinosa, CEO of FIND, will present information on the nationwide campaign to raise awareness and how to take action to fight hunger and the state of hunger and food insecurity in the Coachella Valley.
