Title: Accept Resignation of Piper Scott from the Public Arts Commission
City Council
RECOMMENDATION:
To accept the resignation of Piper Scott from the Public Arts Commission effective immediately and direct staff to proceed with filling the vacant seat.
BACKGROUND:
Piper Scott was appointed to serve on the Public Arts Commission on June 16, 2021 for a full-term expiring June 30, 2024.
DISCUSSION:
On August 23, 2022, staff received an email from Piper Scott submitting her resignation from the Public Arts Commission effective immediately.
With the resignation of M s. Scott, the Public Arts Commission will have one vacancy with a term continuing to June 30, 2024.
Staff recommends the City Council direct staff to do the following:
• Pursuant to Government Code 54974, post a Notice of Vacancy. No appointment can be made sooner than 10 days after the Notice of Vacancy has been posted.
• Post vacancy on social media and City website and publish in the Desert Sun.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact with this item.
