From: Tracey Hermosillo, City Clerk
Title: Resolution Adopting Amended Conflict of Interest Code

City Council

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends that the City Council approve a Resolution rescinding Resolution 2020-54 and adopting a Conflict-of-interest Code applicable to designated positions by incorporating Regulation 2, California Code of Regulations, Section 8730 - the Standardized Conflict-of-interest Code as well as Appendices in which members and employees are designated and disclosure categories are set forth.

Positions that are included are those making or participation in making governmental decisions which may have material effect on any financial interest. The original Form 700 for these filers is filed in the City Clerk’s Office.

In addition, pursuant to Government Code Section 87200, the following positions shall also file a Statement of Economic Interest Form: Council Members, City Manager, Planning Commissioners, City Attorney and City Treasurer. These filers file their forms electronically with the Fair Political Practices Commission. These positions are not included in the proposed resolution.

DISCUSSION:

The City’s Conflict -of-interest Code was last updated in October 20 20. The following changes are recommended and are reflected in Appendix “ A” of the proposed Resolution:

These disclosure categories are included in Appendix “B” of the attached Resolution.
