Richard Altman stated that the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce Board has new members with a new direction. He expressed their willingness to work with the City and urged the City Council to approve the proposed agreement.
Diane Soto, Interim CEO for Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce, provided her background and stated that the Chamber is working on the issues and they are being proactive. She expressed their willingness to work with the City.
Jo Beth Prudhomme, Sales Manager Greater Cochella Valley Chamber of Commerce, she expressed her excitement about the direction the City is going. She feels she has a lot of creative ideas and is looking forward to working with the City.
Shelley Kaplan, Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce, stated that the Chamber has gone through a transition and is revitalizing itself. He expressed the importance of the Chamber and their willingness to work with the City. He urged the City Council to approve the proposed agreement.
After discussion the City Council expressed their concerns and would like to work with the Chamber on conditions for the proposed agreement.
A motion was made by Councilmember Gregory and seconded by Councilmember Ross to table this item to no longer than 60 days to allow a subcommittee, appointed by Mayor, to work with members of the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce on conditions for the proposed agreement.
Mayor Gutierrez appointed Councilmember Ross and Councilmember Carnevale to sit on a subcommittee to work with members of the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce.
