Cathedral City Public Works
Attn: John Corella, Director of Engineering
Delivered via electronic mail
SUBJECT: Second Street Park
Dear John,
Verde Design is pleased to submit the following proposal to provide design and conceptual drawings on the above referenced project. This proposal shall remain valid for a period of ninety (90) days.
PROJECT UNDERSTANDING:
We understand that the scope of work will include the conceptual planning for a dog park with separated areas for small and large dogs, site furnishings, a parking lot, and possibly a pickleball court (if space allows) within the limit of work shown below that was once occupied by a softball field. Exact limits, size, and location of the dog park and park elements will be determined during programming and the collaborative design process. Additional shade trees, shade structures and new walkways will be included.
We understand that the existing building on site will remain and be re-used. Existing field fencing and lighting will be protected and re-used if possible or perhaps re-purposed for use elsewhere if the materials are deemed valuable and re-use is deemed feasible. Relocation, removal, or protection of existing elements will be noted.
The requested conceptual plans will include only a general layout of softscape areas, hardscape areas, and locations of any proposed site furnishings and trees. We will also provide a list of materials/site furnishings with manufacturer and model information. We understand that the City will be handling the construction documents and construction support for this project.

SCOPE OF SERVICES
Verde Design proposes the following detailed scope of work for the above stated understanding of the project.
A. Analysis / Conceptual Design
1. Visit the site and review record drawings to investigate existing conditions. Set up CAD drawings preferably with base or aerial topo survey provided by the City relative to our scope of work. If an AutoCAD file of the existing topographic survey is not available, we will use an aerial photographic image as our base. The accuracy of our layout will be dependent upon the accuracy of the base information that is available to us.
2. Prepare and provide a preliminary design concept for review and approval. Conceptual plan will include placement and limits of the dog park (softscape/hardscape layouts), parking lot, new walkways, proposed site furnishings, shade structures, any relocation/removal/protection of existing site elements, preliminary planting palette and possibly a pickleball court.
3. Zoom meeting to discuss and review the initial design.
4. Refine the preferred design concept for the project improvements based on the input received and provide colored 2D rendering with a materials legend for final design.
5. Prepare – Preliminary Cost Estimate – Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM)
6. Present final conceptual plan at final Zoom meeting.
Additional Meetings: We will attend any additional meetings requested by Cathedral City Public Works throughout the process. Additional meetings will be billed at cost in accordance with the attached Charge Rate Schedule in addition to the stated fee.
