Title: Declaration of Results for the November 8, 2022 Municipal Election

RECOMMENDATION:
To adopt a Resolution declaring the results of the November 8, 2022, election as certified by the Riverside County Registrar of Voters and adopt a Resolution declaring the results of the Special Election for the City of Cathedral City Community Facilities District No. 2022-1 (Cathedral city Park & Recreation Services) and directing further actions
. BACKGROUND:
A general municipal election was held on November 8, 2022, in the City of Cathedral City.
The purpose of this election was to do the following:
Elect three (3) Council Seats by District (District 3, District 4 and District 5) each with a four-year term and to elect one City Treasurer at large for a four-year term.
The propositions of the levy of the special tax within the City of Cathedral City Community Facilities District No. 2022-1 (Cathedral City Park & Recreation Services) (the “CFD”), the establishment of the appropriations limit for the CFD and the incurring of the bonded indebtedness for the CFD were submitted to the qualified electors of the CFD on November 8, 2022, as “Measure K”.
DISCUSSION:
The Elections Code requires the City Council to adopt a Resolution reciting the fact of the election and declare the result no later than the next regularly scheduled meeting following the presentation of the canvass of the returns, or at a special meeting called for this purpose.
The following are the certified results of the November 8, 2022, Election declared by the Riverside County Registrar of Voters:

District 5 – Raymond Gregory
City Treasurer (at large) – Greg Jackson
Measure K – Not Successful
Attached for your consideration are the following:
•A Resolution satisfying the requirements to declare the results of the election and authorize the swearing-in of the elected officials.
•A Resolution approving the results of the Special Election “Measure K”, the Abandonment of Further Proceedings for the CFD and directing the City Clerk to certify the adoption of the Resolution and cause it to be filed in the Office of the Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder of the County of Riverside within 15 days of the date of adoption.
