Tony Michaelis
Cathedral City Airport Commission Application
October 2022
My name is Tony Michaelis and I live in the Montage at Mission Hills community at the corner of Gerald Ford and DaVall.

I am a retired hospital administrator and am the current President of the Montage at Mission Hills Homeowners Association (HOA). Montage received the Medallion Award for well-run HOAs in 2021 and the 2022 HOA of the Year by the Community Association Institute-Coachella Valley (CAI-CV).

As a Montage Board member, I have also been active in the greater Coachella Valley, serving on the Homeowner Leadership Committee of CAI-CV and have worked with Cathedral City and Coachella Valley Water District officials on relevant issues, such as short-term vacation rentals and water usage.

Based on my airport experiences over the past few years, I began to follow Commission activities and have spoken at a meeting regarding concerns about baggage claims and airport management. My takeaway from that experience is that there is room for improvement in airport management. I believe my management, finance, and leadership skills (see attached resume) could make a positive contribution to the Commission's oversight of the airport.

The Palm Springs International Airport is a regional facility, and it appropriately has a Commission represented by all Coachella Valley cities. The Airport Commission provides oversight on a variety of issues including operations, budget noise. Many moise compand origis dein die ma static from thr airport, and My goal would be to provide thoughtful oversight and effectively communicate back with our councilmembers and city officials.

One of my goals in retirement is to give back to my community and improve quality of life. To that end, I hope you will give me the opportunity to serve as the Cathedral City representative to the Coachella Valley Airport Commission.

Thank you for your consideration.
