Sandra Molina, Code Compliance Manager, provided an overview on the revised proposed Sidewalk Vendor Ordinance. The following points were presented:
Applicability of the Ordinance
Proposed Revisions
Stationary Vendors- Permissible Zones
Enforcement of the Ordinance
Removal and/or Seizure of items
The following areas of concern were expressed by members of the City Council:
Application- Hours and areas of operation
Vending for non-profits
Sale of services
Vending at parks
Vending in medians
Liability and insurance
Flower vendors
Staff was directed to work with the City Attorney to address their expressed concerns with the proposed ordinance and bring it back for consideration and first reading.
