Title: Interview Applicant for the Palm Springs International Airport Commission and Consider an Appointment to fill the Vacant Seat with a term expiring on June 30, 2024.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council interview the applicant that submitted an application for possible appointment to fill one vacant seat on the Palm Springs International Airport Commission with a term expiring on June 30, 2024.
BACKGROUND:
On September 28, 2022, the City Council accepted the resignation of Jill Philbrook, effective immediately. Staff posted the Notice of Vacancy pursuant to Government Code 54957 and advertised the vacancy in the Desert Sun and through social media.
The deadline for applications was October 28, 2022.
DISCUSSION:
Staff received one application from Tony Michaelis, which is attached for your review.
Staff recommends City Council interview Mr. Michaelis and consider appointing him to fill the vacant seat on the Palm Springs International Airport Commission with a term continuing through June 30, 2024.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact with this item.
