RECOMMENDATION:
Provide second reading by title only, and adopt an ordinance adding Chapter 5.98 and amending Chapter 5.48 of the City of Cathedral City Municipal Code.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Attached for adoption is a n ordinance establishing a sidewalk vendor ordinance, including exhibits A and B as referenced in the ordinance.
On January 11, 2023, the City Council introduced an ordinance to establish a sidewalk vendor ordinance. The introduced ordinance is in compliance with state law regulating sidewalk vendors and reflects the direction gi ven by the City Council during study sessions conducted on November 9, 2022, and December 14, 2022.
The City’s adopted fee resolution , Resolution 2021-27, established initial ($192.00) and renewal fees ($100.00) for street vendors and no further action regarding fees is required.
