Title: Accept Resignation of Stephen Vericker from the Parks and Community Events Commission

RECOMMENDATION:
To accept the resignation of Stephen Vericker from the Parks and Community Events Commission effective immediately and direct staff to proceed with filling the vacant seat.
BACKGROUND:
Stephen Vericker was appointed to serve on the Parks and Community Events Commission on June 30, 2020, for a full-term expiring on June 30, 2023.
DISCUSSION:
On March 14, 2023, staff received an email from Stephen Vericker submitting his resignation from the Parks and Community Events Commission effective immediately.
With the resignation of Mr. Vericker, the Parks and Community Events Commission will have one vacancy. The term for this vacant seat will continue to June 30, 2023, with the optional reappointment for a full three year term.
Staff recommends the City Council direct staff to do the following:
•Pursuant to Government Code 54974, post a Notice of Vacancy. No appointment can be made sooner than 10 days after the Notice of Vacancy has been posted.
•Post vacancy on social media and City website and publish in the Desert Sun.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact with this item.
