The City of Cathedral City hereby extends to you an Appointment of Retired Annuitant as a Fire Battalion Chief beginning May 1, 2023, pending council approval.
The salary for this position is $54.91 per hour.
This contract can be terminated at any point by you or the city.
As a current employee you will not be required to complete additional clearances.
Special provisions or conditions as a retired annuitant are as follows:
• You are not entitled to regular C ity benefits, includin g health insurance, holiday pay, vacation, or sick time, etc.
• You will not accrue service credit or any additional retirement rights or benefits. • California law prohibits appointment of a retired annuitant by a CalPERS employer if, during the 12 -month perio d before an appointment, you received unemployment insurance compensation f or prior retired annuitant employment with any CalPERS employer. Upon accepting employment, you must certify in writing to the employer that yo u comply with this requirement.
• Without exception, a maximum of 960 hours ca n be worked within a fi scal year (July 1 to June 30). Nonpaid or volunteer hours cannot be used in order to exceed 960 hours in a fiscal year.
