Title: Halloween Dog Costume Event at the Panorama Dog Park October 2023
RECOMMENDATION:
For the Parks and Community Events Commission (PACE) to recommend approval to the City Council for $400 from the PACE Small Events Budget in support of the Halloween Dog Costume Event at the Panorama Dog Park on October 30, 2023.
BACKGROUND:
Commissioner Antonio Baciu is requesting that the Parks and Community Events Commission (PACE) consider supporting an event at the Panorama D og Park in which would be advertised as the “ Halloween Dog Costume Event at the Panorama Dog Park.” This Event would encourage the owner of a dog(s) to dress up their canine up in a festive or scary Halloween costume and compete for prizes. This event would not only showcase the dogs, but it would also showcase the Panorama Dog Park.
The particulars of the event are as follows:
Event Date: Saturday, October 30, 2023
Time: 10:00 am to 11:30 am
Location: Panorama Park
Budget: $400.00 This cost may be reduced after seeking sponsors for the prizes.
Categories and Prizes:
Below represents what the winners would receive per category. The gift cards would be provided by either the PACE Small Events Budget or potential s ponsors of the event that PACE Commissioners will solicit for in the upcoming months prior to the Event.
Small Dogs
• 1st Prize: $75.00
• 2nd Prize: $50.00
• 3rd Prize: $25.00
Large Dogs

The refreshment budget for this Event would be limited to $100.
Staff Liaison to the PACE is requesting that the PACE consider this item and, if supported, vote to recommen d approve the Halloween Dog Costume Event at the Panorama Dog Park and the respective budget. If approved, Staff would schedule this item to be presented to the City Council for the $400 budget approval at a meeting in August.
FUNDING SOURCE:
This requested event funding of $400.00 will be funded from the PACE Small Events budget apportioned out of the FY 2023 -2024 Parks and Recreation Professional and Technical Services budget item 100-500-510-511-8600-8601. 4 Packet Pg. 14
