A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CATHEDRAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING THE INTERSECTION
OF DAVALL DRIVE AND MCCALLUM WAY AS A MULTI WAY STOP
CONTROL INTERSECTION.
WHEREAS, DaVall Drive from 30 th Avenue to Dinah Shore Drive is a joint jurisdiction roadway between the City of Cathedral City and the City of Rancho Mirage (Agencies); and
WHEREAS, roadway and safety improvements to the existing conditions on joint jurisdiction roadways require to be adopted by both Agencies; and WHEREAS, a warrant analysis report was conducted to evaluate the installation of a multi-way stop control at the intersection of DaVall Drive and McCallum Way/Via Tuscany; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Mirage approved the implementation of a multi-way stop control at the intersection of DaVall Drive and McCallum Way/Via Tuscany on September 7, 2023, and
FINDING, that the warrant is met using January 2023 traffic count data and Criterion C.3 (70% Minimum Volume and Vehicle Delay) of the warrant analysis methodology; and
FINDING, a multi-way stop control is warranted at the intersection of DaVall Drive and McCallum Way/Via Tuscany based on the criteria contained in the California Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA-MUTCD) Chapter 2, Section 2B.07; and NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cathedral City, that pursuant Chapter 12.44.010 of the Cathedral City Municipal Code, the following listed intersection is hereby declared to be a multi-way control intersection and stop signs shall be erected at the specified entrances thereto:
DaVall Drive and McCallum Way/Via Tuscany: Stop signs shall be installed on all entrances of this intersection, thereby stopping all traffic before entering the intersection.
