Title: Resolution Designating Holidays Cathedral City Public Offices Shall be Closed for Calendar Year 2024

RECOMMENDATION:
To adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Cathedral City, California, Designating Holidays on which City Public Offices Shall be Closed for Calendar Year 2024.
BACKGROUND:
On November 10, 2020, the City Council repealed Chapter 2.55 of Title 2 of the Municipal Code allowing the City Council to designate Holidays Observed by Resolution annually, or as necessary.
DISCUSSION:
Staff recommends City Council approve the attached Resolution establish ing dates public offices will be closed in 2024.
Below are the dates staff is proposing public offices be closed:

The third Monday in January (Martin Luther King Jr.) Monday, January 15, 2024 The third Monday in February (Presidents’ Day) Monday, February 19, 2024 The last Monday in May (Memorial Day) Monday, May 27, 2024 June 19 (Juneteenth National Independence Day) Wednesday, June 19, 2024

This Resolution will take effect December 31, 2023. City Hall operating hours will be made available to the public.

There is no fiscal impact with this item.
