BACKGROUND:
On November 10, 2020, the City Council repealed Chapter 2.55 of Title 2 of the Municipal Code allowing the City Council to designate Holidays Observed by Resolution annually, or as necessary.
DISCUSSION:
Staff recommends City Council approve the attached Resolution establishing dates public offices will be closed in 2024.
Below are the dates staff is proposing public offices be closed:

The first Monday in September (Labor Day) Monday, September 2, 2024 November 11th (Veterans Day) Monday, November 11, 2024
Fourth Thursday in November (Thanksgiving Day) Thursday, November 28, 2024 Friday following Thanksgiving Day Friday, November 29, 2024 December 25 (Christmas Day) Wednesday, December 25, 2024 This Resolution will take effect December 31, 2023. City Hall operating hours will be made available to the public.
