Title: Gregory S. Pettis Fountain of Life - Fencing

RECOMMENDATION:
This item is presented for information, discussion and direction only.
BACKGROUND:
On April 5, 2023, the City Council reviewed the use and status of the Fountain of Life art and the surrounding soft surface.
On September 27, 2023, the City Council received an update on the Fountain of Life and the associated Conceptual Design options.
On October 25, 2023, the City Council authorized staff to proceed with the repairs and upgrades to the Fountain of Life.
DISCUSSION:
Staff has identified f our (4) different options for the fence surrounding the main art pieces. The minimum recommended height of the fence is 42” (3 ½ feet) and the material is planned to be powder-coated cast/wrought iron. Staff is soliciting a recomendation from the City Council on the fence design.
Separately, staff has provided a picture of the Fountain of Life”s various colors. As a means of comparison, staff has also provided 12 swatches of the primary colors in the fountain. Staff is seeking recommendation(s) on a complimentary color (s) for fence and the concrete.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None. The budget was approved at the October 25, 2023 Council meeting.
