Title: Appointments to the Palm Springs International Airport Commission and Finance Advisory Committee
RECOMMENDATION:
To consider appointing one individual to serve on the Palm Springs International Airport Commission and one individual to serve on the Finance Advisory Committee with terms expiring on June 30, 2027, based on the interviews conducted during the Study Session portion of the June 26, 2024 Meeting.
BACKGROUND:
The Palm Springs International Airport Commission will have one vacant seat effective June 30, 2024 and Finance Advisory Committee will have one vacant seat effective June 30, 2024.
DISCUSSION:
Applications were received from the following individuals for the Palm Springs International Airport Commission:
Gary Amy
Jimmie Leckliter
Christopher Lewis
Robert Mata
Christian Samlaska
Donald Vickers
Applications were received from the following individuals for the Finance Advisory Committee:
Ruth Fernandez
Danielle Mead
All of the applicants were interviewed on June 26, 2024, during the Study Session portion of the meeting. Based on the interviews conducted, staff recommends that the City Council consider making one appointment to fill one seat on the Palm Springs International Airport Commission that will be expiring on June 30, 2024 and one seat on the Finance Advisory Committee that will expiring on June 30, 2024 both for a three year term continuing to June 30, 2027.
