Title: Accept the Resignation of Skye Daley from the Planning Commission.
RECOMMENDATION:
Accept the Resignation of Skye Daley from the Planning Commission effectively immediately and direct staff to proceed with filing the vacant seat.
BACKGROUND:
Skye Daley was appointed to serve on the Planning Commission on June 30, 2020, and was reappointed on June 28, 2023, with a term continuing through June 30, 2026.
DISCUSSION:
On July 15, 2024, staff received a letter of resignation from Skye Daley from the Planning Commission, effectively immediately (see attached).
With the resignation of Mr. Daley, the Planning Commission will have one vacancy with a term continuing through June 30, 2026.
Staff recommends the City Council direct staff to do the following:
•Pursuant to Government Code 54974, post a Notice of Vacancy. No appointment can be made sooner than 10 days after the Notice of Vacancy has been posted. •Post the vacancy on social media and the City’s website. •Accept applications through August 16, 2024.
Pursuant to City Council Resolution 2022-47, this seat shall be nominated by Mayor Mark Carnevale. Staff will work with Mayor Carnevale to schedule interviews and bring back a formal nomination at a future Council Meeting for ratification.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact with this item.
FIVE-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN:
This item does not apply to the Five-year strategic Plan.
