CATHEDRAL CITY MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL

MEMBERS
68-700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero Cathedral City, CA 92234
Dear Cathedral City Mayor & City Council Members,
I am writing to express my intent to serve on the Cathedral City Mobile Home Fair Practices Commission. With three years of experience as a current proxy commissioner on the Agua Caliente Planning Commission, I am eager to contribute my knowledge and skills to promote fair practices within our community.

My background includes familiarity with lease agreements, petition hearings, and keeping up to date with city codes, ordinances, tribal codes, and land ordinances. Although I do not own a mobile home or have been a tenant, home park owner, operator, or manager, I believe my experience provides a valuable perspective for this commission.

Additionally, in the past, I served for three years on the Agua Caliente Gaming Commission Board, including two years as vice-chairwoman. In this role, I gained significant experience in community petition hearings, where I was responsible for receiving, hearing, and determining outcomes on gaming licenses by established gaming regulations and ordinances. This experience has honed my ability to listen to diverse viewpoints and make informed decisions that benefit the community.

I am committed to advocating for the rights and interests of mobile home residents while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. I look forward to collaborating with fellow commissioners to address the unique challenges mobile home communities face in Cathedral City.

Thank you for considering my application. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the fair practices and well-being of our mobile home residents.

Sincerely,
SUNSHINE R. HERRERA
