Title: Ratify the Nomination of Sunshine Herrera by Councilmember Lamb to fill the Unexpired Vacancy on the Historic Preservation Committee and appoint her to serve for a term continuing through June 30, 2026.
RECOMMENDATION:
To ratify the nomination of Sunshine Herrera by Councilmember Rita Lamb to fill an unexpired term on the Historic Preservation Committee and appoint her to serve for a term continuing through June 30, 2026.
BACKGROUND:
The Historic Preservation Committee currently has two vacant seats, both with terms expiring on June 30, 2026. One seat is to be nominated by Councilmember Rita Lamb and one seat is to be nominated by Mayor Pro Tem Nancy Ross.
DISCUSSION:
The vacancies on the Historic Preservation Committee were posted as required by Government Code 54957. Applications are being accepted on an on-going basis until the vacancies are filled.
Staff received an application from Sunshine Herrera for the vacant seat that is to be nominated by Councilmember Rita Lamb. Councilmember Lamb met with Mrs. Herrera and it is her desire to nominate Mrs. Herrera to fill her vacant seat. The application for Mrs.
Herrera is attached for your review.
Pursuant to Resolution 2022-47, staff recommends the City Council ratify Councilmember Rita Lamb’s nomination and appoint Sunshine Herrera to fill the unexpired seat on the Historic preservation Committee with a term expiring on June 30, 2026.
