Title: Ratify the Nomination of Alexandra Heckman by Councilmember Rita Lamb to Serve on the Historic Preservation Committee and Appoint Her to Fill an Unexpired Term Continuing Through June 30, 2026.
RECOMMENDATION:
To ratify the nomination of Alexandra Heckman by Councilmember Rita Lamb to serve on the Historic Preservation Committee and appoint her to fill an unexpired term continuing through June 30, 2026.
BACKGROUND:
The Historic Preservation Committee currently has one vacant seat with a term expiring June 30, 2026. Pursuant to City Council Resolution 2022-47, this seat shall be nominated by Councilmember Rita Lamb (District One).
DISCUSSION:
The vacancy on the Historic Preservation Committee was posted as required by Government Code 54974, with a deadline to receive applications until the position is filled.
Staff received two applications. Councilmember Rita Lamb conducted interviews with both applicants, and as a result, she would like to nominate Alexandra Heckman to fill the vacant seat for District One with a term continuing through June 30, 2026, her application is attached for your review.
It is staff’s recommendation that, pursuant to City Council Resolution 2022-47, the City Council ratify the nomination of Councilmember Rita Lamb of Alexandra Heckman to serve on the Historic Preservation Committee and formally appoint her to fill the unexpired term continuing through June 30, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact with this item.
