Application for Finance Advisory Committee Member
Dear Mayor, Mayor Pro-Temp, and Council Members,
I am writing to express my strong interest in serving on the Finance Advisory Committee. With my extensive experience with Measure W and demonstrated financial oversight capabilities, I believe I would be a valuable addition to this important committee.

Measure W Expertise
My comprehensive involvement with Measure W uniquely qualifies me to participate in its review process:
• Actively collaborated with the Political Action Committee supporting "Measure W for a Safe and Self- Reliant Cathedral City"
• Conducted informational presentations alongside off-duty police and fire personnel throughout the city's gated communities, educating residents about the measure's importance • Developed in-depth knowledge of city budgetary processes and financial management through this advocacy work
Financial Oversight Credentials
I have consistently demonstrated my commitment to understanding municipal finances through:
• Regular attendance at all budget meetings during the current fiscal year, including Strategic Planning sessions
• Thorough analysis of organizational structures and budgets for City, Fire, and Police departments • Active service on the RFP Events Committee overseeing LGBT Days, State of the City, and Taste of Jalisco for 2025-2026
Proven Fiscal Management
As Vice Chair of the Parks and Community Events Commission, I have demonstrated practical financial stewardship by:
• Successfully managing a $10,000 departmental budget
• Securing external sponsorships that allowed the city to host community events at zero cost to taxpayers
• Implementing innovative resource allocation strategies, such as designating $6,200 for Spay and Neuter Events in the 2024-2025 budget while simultaneously developing a cost-neutral expansion plan for these valuable services
Serving on the Finance Advisory Committee would represent a meaningful progression in my civic service —from advocating for Measure W's passage to now potentially overseeing its implementation and ensuring it delivers maximum value to our community.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my experience and perspective could benefit the Finance Advisory Committee and our city's financial future.

Respectfully,
Antonio Baciu
Vice Chair, Parks and Community Events Commission
