Dear Members of the Public Arts Commission Selection Committee,

I am writing to express my sincere interest in being considered for appointment to the Cathedral City Public Arts Commission.

As a proud resident of Cathedral City for the past 13 years, I care deeply about the future of our community and believe that public art plays a vital role in shaping its character, pride, and vibrancy. I love this city, and that love is reflected in my personal and professional life.

For the past two years, I have served as the Development Director for the Boys & Girls Club. I’ve had the privilege of helping create opportunities for young people through programming, community partnerships, and events. Additionally, I work as a Realtor with a strong focus on Cathedral City. My tagline is “We live here, we own here, and we sell here,” which speaks to my deep belief in our city’s beauty, value, and potential.

I have a true appreciation for the art that lives all around us—from the vibrant murals and artistically decorated benches throughout the city, to the incredible Mountain Cathedrals sculpture on Palm Canyon. Living in District One, I feel a special connection to our city’s artistic roots, especially with the legacy of Agnes Pelton and Val Samuelson, whose creative spirits continue to inspire. These expressions of public art are more than visual landmarks—they tell our city’s story and give it soul.

I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the Commission’s efforts in supporting visual and performing arts, collaborating with local organizations, and enhancing our public spaces through creativity. I believe my background in development, community engagement, and local real estate provides a unique and valuable perspective.

Thank you for your time and consideration. It would be an honor to serve, and I welcome the opportunity to help further the cultural and artistic vision of Cathedral City.

Warm regards,

Kara Robinson
