First Annual Cathedral City Festival of the Arts
Date of the event will be March 28, 2026 from 11am to 4pm. City staff set-up at 0700, artist set up at 0900.

Approval by PAC in September, City Council following ASAP.

Project budget will be (not to exceed) $5000.00.

Two food trucks, one desert truck, chosen and booked/confirmed by Adam. We will make sure to name the vendors in our advertising materials so that their own followings will know to attend.

Stage performances: in the style of background music; Ryan to reach out to CCHS as well as other potential acts. Will budget for contribution/stipend.

DJ Services most likely provided by DJ Shawna.

Ryan to put on city communications calendar by fall 2025; Ryan to put together advertising plan list and provide to Don for PAC.

Don will make sure event gets put on RIVCO Arts Calendar.

Desert Recreation District to take responsibility for Children’s Play Area.

Tents: City owns and will supply 10 10x10 tents and 11 10x20 tents (32 artists). City to purchase more tents and this will meet our initial goal of 40 tents. EVENT IS BEING HELD AT A HIGH WIND TIME OF YEAR.

Don/Rick to put together the registration packet for artists using RIVCO event and library events as a template. (See attachments)
The packet will use the same waiver and rules used by Riverside Art Museum, which is given to the artist at registration and then again at an artist meeting a week prior to the event. The rules have a required equipment list and cover other areas important for the artists to know, including that we will ask them to leave if our requirements are not met. I attached the waiver and rules to this document.

City staff to talk with city finance about how we will accept payment from artists. The artist fee for the event will be $100.00 payable at the time of registration. Artist registration for the event will open on January 1, 2026 and close on February 16, 2026. There will be no commission fees on sales and their will be no admission fee to the event itself.

Don and Rick will develop a flyer for the event to distribute in person at art shows in the fall (West Coast Productions first show is at The River over Thanksgiving Weekend), as well as to distribute via email to our various lists and organizations to recruit artists. This will also include Desert Open Studios in mid-January, and our Quarterly Art Show contacts.

In addition to payment, we will need a registration link or other way for the artists to submit their registration.

Ryan to handle reaching out for city TV coverage, Eye on the Desert, etc.
