I respectfully offer this letter of interest to be considered for the appointment to fill the District 3 City Council vacancy. I can confirm that I am a registered voter and resident of District 3.
A proven and tested leader, I currently manage a charitable foundation that provides grants to nonprofit organizations. This experience gives me insight to the issues affecting our community and an awareness of the desert's diverse constituencies. I know my Cathedral City neighbors and the issues of importance to them! While certainly filled with purpose, my work still affords me the time to serve in a Council role.
I also bring valuable transferable background. I have served on commissions for the County of Los Angeles, City of Los Angeles, and City of West Hollywood. For the City of West Hollywood, I was the co-chair of the citizen group that developed the General Plan after the city incorporated - a major achievement!
I have the time to commit, I am passionate about being of service to my community, I can contribute solid experience, and I have an appreciation for working as a member of a team. For all these reasons and more, I hope to move forward in this process and be interviewed at the special City Council meeting on January 7th.
