The City of Cathedral City hereby extends to you an Appointment of Retired Annuitant as a Deputy Fire Chief beginning January 19, 2025, pending council approval.
The salary for this position is $108.4445 per hour.
This contract can be terminated at any point by you or the city.
As a current employee you will not be required to complete additional clearances.
Special provisions or conditions as a retired annuitant are as follows:
• You are not entitled to regular City benefits, including health insurance, holiday pay, vacation, or sick time, etc.
• You will not accrue service credit or any additional retirement rights or benefits. • California law prohibits appointment of a retired annuitant by a CaPERS employer if, during the 12-month period before an appointment, you received unemployment insurance compensation for prior retired annuitant employment with any CaPERS employer. Upon accepting employment, you must certify in writing to the employer that you comply with this requirement.
• Without exception, a maximum of 960 hours can be worked within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Nonpaid or volunteer hours cannot be used in order to exceed 960 hours in a fiscal year.
