RE: Use Tax Omission – Dana Safety Supply Quote #613462-D
The purpose of this memorandum is to inform the City Council that the sales quote received from Dana Safety Supply, Inc. (Quote #613462-D, dated February 7, 2026) for emergency vehicle equipment installation on a 2026 Chevy Silverado 2500 did not include the applicable California Use Tax.
The quote as originally submitted reflected a 7.75% Sales Tax; however, a California Use Tax of 1.5% ($143.10) was not included. The corrected totals are as follows:

Revised Order Total $10,501.45
The original quote reflected an Order Total of $10,358.35. With the addition of the 1.5% Use Tax in the amount of $143.10, the revised Order Total is $10,501.45.
Staff is bringing this to the Council’s attention to ensure full transparency and proper budgeting for this procurement. Please note that the Use Tax was an omission from the vendor’s quote and does not reflect any change in scope or pricing for the equipment or installation services.
