Cathedral City Historical Committee

Dear Members of the Cathedral City Historical Committee, I am writing to express my sincere interest in serving on the Cathedral City Historical Committee. As a resident who deeply values this community, I am eager to give back in a meaningful way by contributing to the preservation and celebration of our city’s unique history.

I have a longstanding interest in history, particularly in architecture, cultural development, and the stories of Native communities that shape the identity of a region. Cathedral City holds a rich and layered past, and I believe preserving and sharing that history strengthens civic pride and community connection.

Professionally, I previously served as an elementary school principal in Beverly Hills, where I developed strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills. In that role, I regularly balanced long-term vision with day-to-day operational demands. I am skilled at seeing the big picture while also attending to important details that ensure projects are completed thoughtfully and effectively.

Additionally, I bring the ability to think creatively and approach challenges from multiple perspectives. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse groups of individuals—often with differing opinions—and I pride myself on being an active listener. I value creating spaces where people feel heard and respected, and I strive to understand viewpoints fully before forming conclusions. I believe this collaborative and open-minded approach is essential when working on matters that reflect a community’s shared heritage.

It would be an honor to contribute my time, skills, and passion to the Cathedral City Historical Committee. I am committed to helping preserve our city’s past while ensuring it remains accessible and meaningful for future generations.

Thank you for considering my application. I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss how I can support the committee’s work.

Sincerely,
Craig Bugbee
